.communities Web Service API

description

Rather than just implementing the standard web service subscriptions feature, the web services section of .communities should expose the complete client-side functionality as a web service so that other programs and languages can access the content. For example there could be a set of web service methods that not only lists section content, but edits and deletes them too.

If this was done, could use smart client for admin or include it in other apps.Probably not a high priority though...

I was thinking that this would be handy for AJAX controls, smart clients are another possibility.This is not a high priority at the moment mainly because there is still a lot of work to be done on the framework, there is also the issue of security and what should be exposed as a web service method...
